LSBE Week of Service 2024: Service...with a Side of Pie!
April 1-5

This year's LSBE Week of Service will culminate with the “Pie-stravaganza” event in the atrium on Friday, April 5.

You read that correctly: your service (see below for service opportunities and sign up here!), donations and dollars between March 10 - April 5 will give you a chance to (lightly) deliver a pie into the face of an LSBE administrator, professor, or staffer.

In fact, eight lucky participants will get to "deliver" the whipped cream “pie" to their pre-selected pie-ee and the event will celebrate student clubs and individuals who have participated in the most service hours or who donated items to Champ’s Cupboard.

Here's how you can get involved (and hopefully pie someone!):

1.) Participate in a service activity

How to do that: Beginning March 10 through April 5, all LSBE students, student clubs, staff, and faculty are encouraged to participate in one or more service activities. (Sign up here!)

The LSBE Outreach Committee has organized several service activities, such as packing/sorting food donations at Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, preparing and serving meals at the Damiano Center, or Adopt-a-Highway cleanup.

Your service MUST BE documented and submitted to Monica Haynes ([email protected]) using the LSBE Community Service Award log sheet.

Available Service Activities:

Saturday, March 30: Damiano Center (two shifts) 1:30-3:30 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
Throughout the week: Food drive in LSBE atrium
Tuesday, April 2: Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank 9-11 a.m.
Wednesday, April 3: Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Thursday, April 4: Adopt-a-Highway cleanup 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Friday, April 5: Medication take-back event in LSBE (morning), Pie-stravaganza 11:45-12:00 noon

AND/OR:

2.) Donate to Champ’s Cupboard

During the week of April 1-5, LSBE students, staff, and faculty will be encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item (or items) to the LSBE Cyber Café for donation to Champ’s Cupboard.

Each donated food item will earn the donor one vote, which they can cast during the week of April 1-5 in the LSBE Cyber Cafe for one of the nominated pie recipients to receive a pie in the face. (Example: One Champ's Cupboard donation gets you one vote for one of the several pre-determined pie-to-face participants.) Multiple donations will equal multiple votes!
