Department of Accounting & Finance

Through both classroom and experiential learning experiences, you will be provided with the skills and knowledge to develop an expert understanding of the accounting and finance disciplines. The faculty of the Accounting and Finance Department contributes to LSBE's BAcc, BBA, and MBA degree programs.  

The department is home to the specialized Financial Markets Program, which gives you, as an undergraduate student, the amazing opportunity to manage a real portfolio of investments. 

Additionally, the department is home to the Financial Planning Program, which gives you the eligibility to sit for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board of Standards certification examination, leading to the professional CFP designation. 

Accounting and Finance students will:

• Analyze and evaluate complex business problems.
• Communicate skillfully in oral and written forms.
• Develop a high level of technical skills to work in public, private, government, or not-for-profit sectors.
• Understand the social and cultural environments of organizations and clients.
