The next Microsoft Excel Workshops will be scheduled towards the end of September 2026. It will be remote asynchronous and this webpage will be updated once the dates are finalized.
Registration is required in advance for these workshops offered above and open to all LSBE students. LSBE will email registration links prior to the dates of the workshops. Students who complete series 1 will receive a registration link for series 2 shortly after series 1 ends.
Completion of Level 1 (Associate) Microsoft Office Specialist Excel Certification OR completion of series 1 and 2 Excel workshops made available by LSBE are required for the Business Analytics (BA) major/minor.
In recognition that today's college students need to be well-versed in Microsoft Excel, LSBE is proud to announce that we will be offering workshops to help students achieve Microsoft Excel certification. We are offering two sets of workshops, each set consisting of five 1-hour sessions. Students who sign up for either series are expected to attend all five sessions in the series.
The remote asynchronous session is composed of 5 hours of video lecture (in approximately 1 hour segments) which can be watched by the student at any time. These videos are designed so the student can follow along with the downloaded files and handouts – so this is a hands-on class. The class also has a 1 hour optional “Q&A” Zoom session from. If part of the lecture was unclear, this is the time to ask the instructor any questions. If you have no questions about this class (or any other questions about Excel in any other class), feel free to skip the Zoom session.
The Microsoft Excel Specialist class is designed to help you pass the Certiport Microsoft Office Specialist Excel certification. You must complete Series 1 and Series 2 to be able to take the certification exam.
