Kelly Johnson, Executive Office and Administrative Specialist
Johnson provides administrative support to not just one LSBE program/office but rather three! She assists the Technology Program, the Internship Program and the Advising and Academic Services office, providing services for eight staff in total who are all housed in the Academic Advising Suite.
Some of the tasks she does include supervising student workers, assisting advising staff with student processing duties, assisting the internship director with Company Days, initiating background checks for some student internships, assisting the technology program by helping to check out laptops to students, and serving as the software liaison for LSBE.
Johnson notes the best part of her job is working with LSBE students. “I attended UMD as an undergraduate and worked with some amazing advisors at that time, and I am so happy that I was given the opportunity to return to UMD and work with students along with the amazing staff within the LSBE Academic Advising Suite."
When she’s not working, Johnson enjoys “reading, watching NFL football (go Vikes!), taking vacations to warm climates, and spending time with her family”— husband, Steve, children Lilly (age 13) and Brady (age 10), and their beagle, Shirley.
