Kurt Guidinger

Kurt Guidinger, Senior Academic Advisor

While many people’s jobs can be summed up with a task list, Kurt Guidinger's important role in LSBE goes far beyond that. His job is to help ensure student success.

Certainly he’s a hands-on, go-to person for students who need assistance with class registrations, guidance on majors and minors, and tracking progress toward graduation, but he’s also helping students with life skills that include navigating the overall college experience, growing into a professional, and making informed decisions.

A major part of the job is being a good listener who helps students with their individualized big picture. Guidinger believes in the credo of "I advise, but you decide."

"I develop relationships with students while they’re here," he said, "and I see them truly grow into their professional selves from 18-year-old freshmen."

When not in the office, Guidinger can be found enjoying the outdoors. He loves mountain biking, Nordic skiing, and camping.

He and his wife, Lyndsay, just celebrated their tenth anniversary. They have three children: Lilli (8), Marta (6), and Sam (4)
