Faculty and Staff Awards And Recognitions

Kim Dauner, LSBE assistant professor of health care management, received a $1,796 grant from the UMD Office of Civic Engagement. The funding will support her collaborative research project, "Reasons for Uninsurance and Other Barriers to Health Care Access Among Adults Under 35: A Qualitative Exploration." Students in Dauner's health services research methods course will develop and carry out this research in partnership with Duluth-based Generations Health Care Initiatives.

Dauner also represented LSBE at the 2012 American Democracy Project and The Democracy Commitment Annual Meeting. Held in San Antonio, the conference explored innovative ways to ways to advance civic education and engagement efforts.

Lawrence Johnson, was promoted from LSBE director of development to LSBE senior director of development.

Dahui Li, chair of the LSBE Finance and Management Information Studies Department, was promoted to full professor.

Christopher McIntosh, LSBE professor of economics and director of UMD'sCenter for Economic Education, won the UMD Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award on May 1, 2012.
