Students Selected for 3M Internship Program

Six LSBE students were accepted into the 3M Frontline Initiative program for this upcoming summer.

Since 2016 over 26 LSBE students have been selected for the program, which provides immersive internships in sales, marketing, analytics, and other business training. When completed, students may be hired full-time with 3M.

“3M has continued to have a positive impact on student engagement and career preparation through their Frontline Program,” said Jessica Gardner, director of the professional sales program. “Our ongoing relationship with 3M is a substantial part of the success of our sales program.”

Alexandra Becker, Justin Clark, Matthew Hockers, Anna Schulte, Logan Stockinger, and Alexa Tessmann will first attend the virtual Frontline program conference in April. There, the LSBE students will meet and build relationships with other interns and numerous 3M employees, listen to keynote speakers, and learn about the Fortune 500 company. Afterward, the students begin their summer-long internships within the company’s 20+ divisions in the United States. (See more about each individual student below.)

LSBE is one of only 14 universities partnering with the Frontline program that provides students with high-caliber experiential learning in the sales and business industry. The school added a professional sales major in 2019, making UMD the only public university in Minnesota to offer one. It is also one of the fastest-growing majors at UMD. The program welcomed Director Jessica Gardner last summer, hosted its first Sales Summit, and is in process of establishing an integrated sales center that will provide students with more rigorous experiential opportunities for careers in sales.
