Attend the Expanded Two-Day Business Career Fair

Freshmen and sophomores can also benefit greatly by attending the LSBE Business Career Fair this week.

Originally started as Meet the Firms for Accounting majors almost 15 years ago and grown to include Finance majors, the LSBE Business Career Fair happening on Thursday, September 21 (in person) and Friday, September 22 (virtual) has been greatly expanded to include businesses and insight for all majors.

“We have been astounded by the variety of firms and the needs they are trying to fill,” said Rodger Brannan Accounting and Finance department head and professor of accounting. “Companies that attend include law enforcement and the FBI, CPA firms, banks, insurance companies, investments companies and more.

“Freshman and sophomores who are wondering what careers they can go into can get some clarity.

“Juniors and seniors can be prescreened for interviews by the firms or maybe even interviewed on the spot for a job or internship.

“Just bring a lot of resumes,” Brannan advises for the upperclassmen.

Ninety employers will be available at the event, which will be held in the Kirby Ballroom and the Rafters from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.  To sign up for sessions at the Friday virtual event, also from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., visit Handshake on the UMD Career Center’s website
