Check Out Marketing and Graphic Design

Across the United States, there are very few programs like the Marketing and Graphic  Design Major—if any. A product of a unique partnership between the Labovitz School of Business and Economics and the School of Fine Arts, this major was put together in response to strong industry need for graduates whose skills span beyond traditional business disciplines.

Our program is centered on cultivating the knowledge and skills graduates can use to find employment immediately after completing their degree. Our students work closely with a faculty comprised of seasoned industry professionals. Coursework includes broad exposure to the fundamentals of business and economics, as well as specialized training in marketing and creative design. The result is a potent combination of core marketing and graphic design skills graduates can put to use right away.

This is precisely what marketing firms are looking for in entry-level hires.

There are over a dozen class offerings in this major, including Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, Advertising & Marketing Communication, and beginner to advanced Graphic Design and Typography offerings. After four years, our graduates will have gained the ability to do things like work effectively in industry-standard creative teams; or move swiftly from an empirical analysis of consumer needs and desires to practical design of effective and tangible promotional materials.

The MGD Major is a highly selective program with a rigorous application process. Yearly admissions to the MGD major will be limited to 20 students. By keeping this program small and competitive, we aim to produce cohorts that consistently place in professional marketing and graphic design positions immediately after graduation.
