Each semester, the UMD Center for Economic Development collaborates with LSBE faculty on the Student to Business Initiative (SBI), a program that connects student teams and businesses to address a specific issue.
SBI enhances the relationship between academia and small businesses in our region by developing experiential learning opportunities for our students while aiding and strengthening our business community. Students collaborate with businesses on Marketing, Accounting, Organizational Management, and Consumer Behavior issues.
The SBI program has assisted a wide variety of businesses since its inception in 1993. Past participating businesses include Animal Allies, Cirrus, Frost River, Idea Drilling, Joynes Ben Franklin, Old World Meats, and many more.
