Welcome! The Finance and MIS (FMIS) Department is glad you've taken time to learn more about us and what we offer. The FMIS department supports four distinct majors: Finance, Financial Markets, Financial Planning, and Management Information Systems (MIS).
The Finance major prepares students for careers in investments, banking, or corporate settings. One of the largest majors in the school, finance attracts students who want to put their quantitative skills to work in a fast-paced sector of business.
The department is home to the specialized Financial Markets Program, which gives undergraduate students the amazing opportunity to manage a real portfolio of investments.
The department is also home to the Financial Planning Program. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Board of Standard Certification examination leading to the professional CFP designation.
The MIS major is a multi-disciplinary program that emphasizes the study of systems development methodology and technology for our rapidly changing society. The goal is to develop project leaders and information resource managers who can address organizational needs with technical solutions.
FMIS blends energy and experience to create exciting learning opportunities for our students. To learn more about majors, contact me or any of the full-time faculty members listed on the faculty and staff page.
